We are the Orewa Sea Scouts. In Cubs the boys learn skills which are put into pratical work in Scouts. Starting fom the 10 1/2 years old the boys in the summer spend most of their Troop night out on the water learning how to Sail and Row the Sea Scout Cutters and our two Sunburst. This is heading towards practise for the annual Auckland Area Sea Scout Regatta. Where we spend three days completing against other groups in the Auckland Area in Rowing and Sailing.

 During winter months we do land based activities. Which can be maintanence on the boats to pioneering and orintearing. We go on a number of patrol or troop camps during this time to many different places. Just recently we went on a bike hike of 64km and stayed the night in tents next to the thermal pools. All of this contributes to badges which each scout does either in a patrol or by themselves.
