Boutonnieres & Corsages
Home
A corsage is a flower on an elastic band that girls wear as a bracelet. It is given to her by her date.

A boutonniere is a small flower that a guy attaches to the lapel of his jacket. It is given to him by his date.
They must be ordered ahead of time to avoid having all the good ones picked over and to make sure that you can actually find them somewhere.
Guys, ask your date (or one of her friends) what color her dress is so you can you match the colors in the corsage to her dress.
Couples will sometimes go together to pick out matching boutonnieres and corsages.
You and your date can choose not to spend the money on these, but make sure that you discuss this with your date first. You wouldn't want him/her to be disappointed if they buy you something and you show up with nothing for them in return.
How to put them on:
Corsages are easy. All you have to do is slip them on your date's wrist like they would wear a bracelet.
Boutonnieres are very tricky. Put it on his lapel close to his shoulder, making sure that the flower is facing up (like the way it would naturally grow). Insert the pin into his jacket, back out through both the jacket and flower stem, and back into his jacket. Don't be shy to ask your parents for help if you need it. They will most likey know what they are doing!
