Oren Sewer Quest~! Huzzah~!

The Beginning

There is an unusual little girl who lives on Oren island, and as a child she heard a story from her grandfather, people know as Baldo. He once told her of an old king, a fountain, and some swashbuckling pirates. This was how it went. There once was a king named Bruce. He lived in Oren many deochs ago as a great king. He did his duties, day in, day out, listening to the townspeople and controlling political affairs. On a day when he went about his routine, there came pirates whose ship washed ashore to the beaches of Lynith. They came in search of a fountain, one that was kept in the great king's castle. It was said that if one drank from this fountain once every four deochs, it would enable one to live eternally. This fountain was a very important monument, and if the wrong kind of person or peoples drank from it, then it would help those people to prolong the torture that they befall the land with. The pirates had invaded Oren in search of this, for they were getting old and weary, and drinking this would give them better life to continue on with their treacherous deeds of the land. They interrogated the king many times, asking where this fountain was, but he resisted them and never answered or gave away where it was at. The pirates refused to believe that the fountain was not there, and they stayed on Oren island, waiting for him to tell them, and they preyed on the women and destroyed people's properties. One day, he decided it was enough, that he did not like how his people were being treated, so he had the fountain moved deep into the sewers of Oren, and then he told the pirates exactly where he had had it. They looked at where it used to be, and the area showed that the fountain had indeed been there. To save his people the troubles, he fled the land, moving all the way to Loures in hopes that the pirates would follow him, in pursuit of the fountain's ability to make them live on. Although most of the pirates did in fact leave, some pirates stayed on the island. This is why there are still pirates that roam there today, and why if you wish to live an extended life, you must travel deep into the dangerous sewers of Oren. The little girl was told this story by her grandfather, he was one of the few people on the king's council that knew where he placed it. He told the little girl so that the story would not be lost forever. If you should happen to come across the girl, ask her about these sewers and this seeming fountain of youth.
