THE BIG QUAD CLASH FOR CA$H

Got to hand it to Johnie from A&A Yamaha one of our great volunteers. She single handedly raised over $300 in Cash for the Open Pro Quad "Clash for Cash" Hard chargin’ Gary Rhodes out of Ada, Oklahoma took home the both the Clash Cash and the Open Pro Quad first place pay, Rhodes placed second behind Brian Davis from Bran’s ATV from Jones, Oklahoma in the 254 Pro Quad race.

The weather cooperated for the first weekend in over a month. Race teams have their eyes set on the High Points Championship for the Indoor Series. Race teams in all four divisions, Dirt Karts, Hot Rod Mowers, ATV Quads and Motorcycles arrived to do battle for the fifth round of competition in the series. Indoors the racetrack was tacky with a nice cushion built up following hot laps. Fred Mears worked his magic with the dirt and made for a super fast racing surface.

Quads were in large numbers for this round. With the $300 up for grabs in the Open Pro Class. There were some awesome races in the quad division, and a few crashes, with no injuries. After watching a couple of heat races, the Quads were gassing it up and moving fast on the tacky indoor track. The Newalla EMTs moved into the infield for rapid response after seeing the large number of riders in the quad division. Tanner Pogue got his first win of the series in the 250 A class, Dallas Tully turned the same trick with a victory in the Open A class. In the Pro division it was the Gary Rhodes Show for the big bucks in Open Pro Quad and the Open Pro Quad Clash for Cash. Rhodes frond more competition in the 250 Pro as he finished second to Brian Davis. Trevor Portier made the trip down from Wichita. He was involved in a crash that damaged a spindle on his Open Pro Quad entry. He was forced to run one of the semis, just making the call after changing parts. He transferred out of the semi into the A Main Event. 250 and Open Quad races were full grids with lots of passing and some great slide jobs with the riders using the tacky cushion on the top of the racetrack.

Another famous Oklahoma Motorsports name was added to the record book at the historic legendary OK Corral Saturday night during the AMP Outlaw Winter Nationals. Dustin the D-Man Morgan competed in the 12" Xtreme Motorcycle class. Morgan races open wheel dirt track autos in competition across the United States. Morgan competed in the past two Chili Bowl Midget Nationals. He is the youngest driver at 17 to win the National Badger/POWRi USAC Midget race held at Angell Park in Wisconson. His web site is

Defending 2006 champion Justin Elswick came prepared with a new paint job on the Dopps Racing entry. Elswick won both the 125/250 and the Open A division.

Kevin Ellingsworth took home the Vintage Pro 600 honors for another repeat win in a hard fought battle with track builder Fred Mears and Scott Koonce on the bike he purchased from the Oklahoma dirt track legend Myron Combs. Frank Bardaro brought his super nice twin to enhance the tone of the evening.

Karts saw a repeat winner in the Beginner class as defending champion Leghiton Clift found his way to the front after a fierce battle for the first few laps. Bailee Clift the defending champ in JR 1 struggled and finished at the rear, but maintains her points lead in the division. The new winner was Grady Chandler. Sorry, I didn’t get the name of the 50/50 Jackpot winner this week, the total was $30. Lots and lots of Door Prizes were given away to lucky ticket holders.

We added 22 new racers to the series Saturday Night and we had 7 racers that won the first time in their classes.

Classes with (NW) designate a new winner in that class for the series. RW is repeat winner.
