The fully lit, road grader prepared track at Tulsa Xtreme World again produced some awesome racing action Saturday night July 31, 2004 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Night racing is much cooler in tempeture, and provides colorful action for the fans.
Following a week of constant on and off again rain, the track management at Xtreme World pulled of a near miracle affording a raceable track for tonights Points Series. The second round of the Oklahoma Summer Points Series was scheduled for June 5, but rains chased away any chance of holding the race on that date, so the date was moved to July 31, 2004. Practice began at 7pm and the races started at 8pm, ending at 10 oclock sharp.
Rider count of 44 entries, was down from the previous round, but the racing action was still great. Thanks to all the riders, crews, AMP volunteer workers and the track management at Xtreme World for getting this rescheduled race in the record books. Everyone did a wonderful job and made the nights racing another fun time.
Bailey Smith continued his domination in the Pee Wee Quad division, riding out of Farrs Cycles in Tulsa, Bailey had a 100% attendance record at Xtreme World. Him and his dad are always first in the pit out gate, and seem to love racing the quad pee wee class. They are always looking for other competitors for Bailey to race. In the 85 Beginner class, Jessica Kame raced her Yamaha in her very first race.
Brad Mills riding out of Daley's Speed Shop in Tulsa took the win in the 85 Mod Quad Short Track class. It would be a different story later in the 85 mod quad TT where Frazier would get around the boys for the win. The Blaster or 300cc class Short Track was a battle of the brands with Honda and Yamaha represented, when the checkered flag flew it was Garrett Clark who crossed the white line first, Peck would go on to defete Clark in the TT race to follow.
The large quad classes were combined to save time and improve the racing action.
Kirby Kyles brought the Kyles Racing team of Kasey and Tye up from Mustang, Oklahoma to run on the quick Tulsa Xtreme World track. Tye took the win in the heat race, but fell victim to his older brother in the main event as Kasey went on for the checkered flag victory. Ellingsworth, Nichols, McAnally made it an old pro triple play as they all won there respective classes, riding against younger riders in most divisons. The racing was great, and will return to Tulsa, Xtreme World Saturday night August 7, for a special double points race.
