What an awesome weekend for the Telefun Group that attended the Detroit Lake Camping trip! The weather was hot, the food was great, and the people were, as always fun!
Friday, Aug 25, people started trickling in, finding there sites, setting up camp, and saying hello to their new neighbors for the next couple of nights. Some people had arrived even a week early! In the evening Mario Beggio started cooking for around a hundred people! He did a great job and we all thank him for his hard work.
Saturday, Aug 26, alot of people headed for the beach to fish, swim, and enjoy each others company. Watching the kids swim and jump on the water trampoline was so much fun! Ed Esaki even brought his boat out and was able to take some people tubing around the lake! (We owe you gas money Ed!...Thanks again!)Around 6PM we held the tradtional potluck that was held at the group site. Mario announced in the beginning that there would be a 50/50 Raffel Drawing at the end of the potluck. Half the proceeds went to the lucky ticket holder and the other half went to the KIDS craft fund! Awesome!
Speeking of Awesome, everyone provided such good dishes for the potluck from A-Z! Salmon, Pork, Chicken Wings, Meatballs, Salads of all kinds, Deserts, Deviled Eggs, and so many more goodies. (around a hundered people meant for so much food, and I think I was able to sample at least a little of everything). Great cooks people!
Sunday, Aug 27 was that dreaded day for most, to have to say goodbye. Most of us were saying "I'll see you tomorrow!" while some of us were thinking of ways to call in sick for Monday...kidding. Others were gloating in the thought of "Oh yeah, I'm retired, I think I'll stay another night" We rolled out of our tents, trailers, and MotorHomes, made a little breakfast, packed and made our rounds of goodbyes.
All in all, another succesful TeleFun Camping trip! And thoes of you that are reading this, that are not involved....GET INVOLVED! It's a Blast!
