The picture at left is Tower Falls, with Bill in the foreground.
The picture at right is a canyon wall that shows layers of sediment deposits.
In 1988, a large portion of Yellowstone burned.  All across the park you can still see bare trees standing like twigs among the new growth.  While the mountains in the center left background appear relatively short, they are actually around 11,000 feet in height.  The average elevation of Yellowstone is 7,000 or 8,000 feet.
