It serves as a live research field where the wonders of nature's healing process are observed over the decades and even centuries. The landscape is infinite and awe-inspiring. |
| In the blast zone, grasses are reemerging, but scorched trees remain standing like twigs. Spirit Lake, once thought to be beyond salvation, is now home to algae. Much more remains to be seen at Mt. St. Helens. |
