| Elk were a common site, as this bull that calmly strolled through our campsite at dinnertime illustrates. They were most commonly spotted in the early evening hours as they fed, but they could be heard all night long. We spent our first two nights of camping here, and woke up to frost on the second morning. |
| I had never lit a campfire before, but I learned quickly from Bill. Four of our five nights in Yellowstone were spent camping, and this was how dinner was prepared. Our choice of hot entree included either a Progresso soup, or pork 'n' beans with beef jerky shreds added for flavor. |
| Though the Upper & Lower Geyser Basins offer the largest assortment of hot spring activity, including Old Faithful, this sort of thing can be found all over the park. This spring was located in the Norris Geyser Basin. This pool was spectacular for its sheer size. |
