IDAHO
Back to picture map...
This picture, like most of the others, is deceiving.  Those mountains looked a lot bigger in person.  Since we went through such a short strecth of Idaho, we did take only one picture.  The entire state at this latitude is extremely mountainous.  Bill drove this stretch, and there was at least one six-mile portion of interstate that did not require any acceleration, and actually provided emergency braking ramps for those heavy eighteen-wheelers.  -Melissa
Ever drive down a 6% gradient with a load on back?  Idaho was fun for the driver, except when those far off mountains moved next to the road just to make you feel really tiny.--Bill
