Introduction

The Order of Chivalry is a group of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn players on Mplayer who share a strong sense of chivalry while in the game. They are dedicated to neutrality and noble principles. Despite the name, ALL CLASSES ARE WELCOME: chivalry refers only to the type of gameplay members of the Order are expected to demonstrate while playing the game.

THE ROUND TABLE (FORUM)

The Forum is up and running. "The Round Table" is open to anyone, while the "Knights of the Order" is a private forum to discuss matters relating to the guild. As the name indicates, only Knights can access the "Knights of the Order" forum. To contribute to the private forum, you will need an ez-board free account (the Round Table does not require to be registered). This will allow you to post comments on the "Knights of the Order" forum, or on any other ez-board forum (which most other guilds use). To get yours, click on this link. Your ez-board username should be the same as your Mplayer username, with the initials OC.

If you want to join, or for more details, please send us an email.

THE ORDER OF CHIVALRY NEWSLETTER

This newsletter includes all the news of the last week. After that period, the news will be moved to the archive.

IMPORTANT: Due to inactivity, the membership of the following people has been temporarily suspended: OC Sakura, OC Davis, OC Gandolf. To continue as members of the Order, these members must either 1) publish a comment on the Round Table forum; 2) send an email to the Order; 3) page one of the Grand Knights on Mplayer or, if none are available, send a telegram. The Grand Knights are: OC SirBroadsword, OC Sir Mallet, OC Sir Worad and OC Sir Yotian. If no response has been received in the following two weeks, these names will be deleted from our members' list. (March 3).

So far, the following members have replied: OC 1009Kwon, Gandolf.

The Declaration of Principles has been updated. (Feb. 15)

Important Notice: Due to the rapid growth in membership, the Order of Chivalry has posted guidelines regarding recruiting in its Declaration of Principles. This is due to an incident about an "unrecruited" OC member, who has added the OC tag to his username without any member of the Order's knowledge or consent. See Article 7 of the Declaration of Principles. (Feb. 15)

Diplomacy: The Order of Chivalry has been approached by the SK (Shadow Keepers) clan for an alliance. Under the terms of the alliance, the two clans would have merged under the initials OK. Since several questions arising from the proposal were left unanswered, the Council of the Knights has decided that it could not yet take a decision on this proposal. (Feb. 12)
The SK clan has dismantled afterwards. (March 14)

The Order of Chivalry has been approached by the Black Widow Company (BWC) for an alliance. The Order of Chivalry has proposed to BWC a non-aggression pact, but the Council of the Knights has rejected a full-alliance proposal. (March 14)

Member Readmitted: Gandolf, since he replied to our message. (March 14)

Members Demoted: Feayr, formerly Squire of the Order, has been banished for the following reasons: use of a character with the experience cap removed; selfishness in game; contempt for the Order's Declaration of Principles; tendency to act as if he were the leader, with contempt for the Knights of the Order. Should he be seen with the OC tag again, all OC members should just ignore him. He is considered dangerous, because he will not hesitate to use a hacked character in duel. (Feb. 20)
It now appears that Feayr is now killing newbies on Mplayer, blaming the Order and in particular Sir Broadsword until Sir Broadsword agrees to a duel. Sir Broadsword has declared that he will not surrender to blackmail, and therefore refused Feayr's request. (Feb. 20)

OC Ryco, for treason. OC Ryco has been seen on Mplayer by another OC member as VG Ryco. When asked about this name, he replied it was an "old one", since he had changed his computer (!). Not only is this excuse pathetic, it is also a lie, for VG Ryco was created 10 days AFTER OC Ryco. Therefore, Ryco has joined another group, albeit one which does not appear to be involved in BG2. OC is ready to accept members who belong to other clans outside BG2, but we cannot accept being lied to.
Dear old Ryco, it seems, has not finished switching clans. He is now WK Ryco. 3 clans in one month. A word of advice to Ryco: Keep up the pace and you will have joined them all in a couple of weeks. As far as OC is concerned, you are finished here. We will never let you in again. (March 9)

OC Robaw2, for the obvious reason that he never was a member of the Order. He said he would join, but did not create the OC username he said he would use. We saw him afterwards using his old name. He pretended to join us for an entirely utilitarian reason, that is to play the game with us. However, if Robaw2 would like to join our Order again, we have no objection, as long as he creates an OC username and makes use of it. (March 3)

Sakura, for inactivity. (March 7)

Davis, for inactivity and for providing the Order with a nonexistent email address. (March 7)

Members Promoted: Yotian, formerly Squire of the Order, has been promoted to the rank of Knight. From this moment on he shall be known as Sir Yotian. Sir Yotian has been made a Grand Knight of the Order. (Feb. 8)

PaperBlade, formerly Squire of the Order, has been promoted to the rank of Knight. From this moment on he shall be known as Sir PaperBlade. (Feb. 11)

Xzabier, formerly Squire of the Order, has been promoted to the rank of Knight. From this moment on he shall be known as Sir Xzabier. (Feb. 20)

DevNull, formerly Squire of the Order, has been promoted to the rank of Knight. From this moment on he shall be known as Sir DevNull. (March 20)

New Squires: ioSTReaM, Thoraxe, BugKing, Black_Horn, Allanon, Preacher, Zagrief.

Updated March 20, 2001, by Sir Broadsword, Grand Knight.
