Sir Harold of the Broadsword is the second son of a nobleman from the Beregost area. At the age of 16, to perfect his training as a Paladin, he travelled across the Sword Coast region, living humbly and providing help to every citizen in need. During his pilgrimage, Sir Harold developed his sense of honour and sacrifice, never failing to help a friend in danger.
When Sir Harold returned to his father's estate five years later, he found his father's castle under siege by a band of orcs. His father had been wounded in the shoulder, and could not be expected to survive the fighting if he stayed on the field of battle. After having ensured that his father was safe behind the walls of the castle, Sir Harold took the lead of his father's personal guard, already decimated by the siege, and led them to victory, Sir Harold himself slaying no less than seven orcs with his broadsword.
This military feat so much impressed the more experienced members of the guard that from this fateful day onward Sir Harold was named Sir Harold of the Broadsword, then simply Sir Broadsword. His aptitude with a sword fully demonstrates how justified his name is.
