Order of the Celestial Dragon
Student/Teacher Relationship
Our system is based on the stundent/teacher relationship. Many witches are solo practitioners, which are fine, however operating in a circle; we stress the importance of taking on a teacher.

The teacher takes on the student's karmic debt, guides in personal growth and aids in the student finding and maintaining their path. The teacher is responsible for every action of the student. This is a great responsiblitiy for the teacher. Part of the reasoning for this is to show you how your actions effect others. When a teacher takes on a student, the student must be aware of this. The student must understand that their actions have more consequesnces and effects more than just themselves. When you throw a pebble into a pond you are responsible for changing the depth of the pond, changing the terrain of the bottom of the pond, how the ripples effect the shoreline, etc. The pond is now ever changed by your actions. However, the teacher gives the student a blanket covering any mess-ups made  while training. The student should be aware of this and be appreciative and respectful.

The teacher will make assignments to make you grow. These assignments may be embarrassing, difficult or even seemingly stupid. The student probably will have no idea when first assigned what use could come of this endeavor. You must trust your teacher and by all means follow the rules of the assignment. Half of the assignment is usually figuring out why the assignment was given.

The teacher will make the student face the best and worst things about them. The teacher will make the student face their demons and be there for them through it all. The student will probably hate, despise, and curse their teacher's name at some point in time. However, the student will definitely love the teacher beyond anyone or anything..

In the time of the samurai, a student had to give one year's worth of servitude to their teacher for each question the student asked. This is the level of commitment that is asked of the student, however not usually demanded. The student should be ready to drop everything for the teacher in a moment's notice. The student should be ready for the teacher to drop by at any moment. Personal growth is the primary goal, and the teacher will do whatever the teacher feels the student needs to grow, at any cost. The student should  be ready and willing to help the teacher with anything. That could mean helping with other students, mowing his lawn, washing his car, or buying his dinner. Honor is greatly stressed in all situations. Most importantly you don't want to taint your honor. A teacher has learned honor and understands honor. Although a student is just learning, honor is something they should be aware of in all of their actions. The student should honor the teacher and show respect not only to the teacher but the other elders in the circle. The student is a direct reflection of the teacher. If the student dishonors anyone the teacher has also dishonored someone. The teacher will quickly and firmly inform the student of this infraction.
