Coming to America Soon ? CAW Organizing United Church Ministers
Two United Church ministers and a ministers wife representing a group of ministers in Ontario and Western Canada joined with CAW representatives including CAW president Buzz Hargrove at a press conference November 5. Hargrove said although the workplace is different the concerns raised by the ministers are similar to those of other workplaces including health and safety, privacy, harassment and compensation. He stressed the drive isnt an attack on the United Church, which is a very progressive organization. Overall, by correcting a lot of the problems raised unionization will create a better work environment.
George F. Will: A complacent candidate cannot win
Wednesday, November 3, 2004
John Kerry's liberalism had something to do with his defeat. Hence so did this: By Jan. 20, 2009, all the elected presidents for 44 consecutive years will have come from three Southern states - Texas, Arkansas, Georgia - and Southern California....The nation's population center did not cross the Mississippi until the 1980 census. Today it is in Phelps County, Mo., heading southwest, away from the Democratic Party with its apparently metabolic impulse to ignore such realities.
No Dividing the Red Sea

When Republicans lose, the media say, "Republicans need to become more liberal, more accommodating," and so on. But when Democrats lose, they say that the country is "bitterly divided" and that the Republican president has a solemn duty to adjust his agenda to the wishes of Democrats. The media will of course demand that Bush bring more Democrats into his cabinet and make this or that compromise. Why should he listen to them? They don't represent the mainstream of the country.
Voters approve new crackdown on illegals
November 4, 2004
Arizona voters' approval of a referendum clamping down on illegal aliens is bolstering a grassroots effort that may result in similar measures across the nation. The Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act, placed on the ballot by activists, makes it mandatory for people registering to vote to show proof of U.S. citizenship, the San Antonio Express-News reported. It also calls for a $750 fine and up to four months in jail for government employees who don't report the use of public benefits by illegals.
Saddam Hussein's Philanthropy of Terror
Thus, there is abundant and undeniable evidence that Saddam Hussein provided money, diplomatic services, shelter, medical care, and training to terrorists of every stripe, including those complicit in the 1993 WTC bombing and - according to a Clinton-appointed federal judge - the September 11 attacks. The Iraqi dictator aided al-Qaeda and other global terrorists who murdered Americans, both at home and abroad.
When Ignorance Isn't Bliss: How Political Ignorance Threatens Democracy
By Ilya Somin September 22, 2004
Democracy demands an informed electorate. Voters who lack adequate knowledge about politics will find it difficult to control public policy. Inadequate voter knowledge prevents government from reflecting the will of the people in any meaningful way. Such ignorance also raises doubts about democracy as a means of serving the interests of a majority. Voters who lack sufficient knowledge may be manipulated by elites. They may also demand policies that contravene their own interests.

Al Qaeda Among Us
There are 59 references to Arizona in the 9/11 Commission Report. But it tells only a fragment of the story when it comes to terrorists in the Grand Canyon State. A joint FBI-CIA analysis titled Arizona: Long Range Nexus for Islamic Extremists remains classified. Its existence was revealed for the first time when the 9/11 Commission released its final report this summer. But the long-standing link between Islamic terrorists and the Arizona desert has been in the public record for years-and its centered dead on Tucson, and in particular, the Islamic Center of Tucson (ICT). For nearly two decades, the most important nexus for international jihad outside of Pakistan and the Middle East has been Arizona.
Producing a Hollywood flop
"Sure, I feel terrible," said New Yorker editor David Remnick, whose published endorsement of Mr. Kerry was a first for the magazine. "There are a lot of long faces today." And "Fahrenheit 9/11" propagandist Michael Moore's Web site actually went silent. That's the same Mr. Moore who only a couple of weeks ago had paused in his anti-Bush road trip to opine: "I have a feeling that slackers are going to rise up in this election. The slacker motto is: Sleep till noon, drink beer, vote Kerry." George Soros, the Hungarian-born billionaire who went on his own 12-city speaking tour and spent an estimated $17 million on ads and get-out-the-vote drives to defeat the president, posted a message on his Web site describing himself as "distressed."
One last flip-flop
November 4, 2004
Bush won the largest popular vote in history with a 3.5 million margin. Indeed, simply by getting a majority of the country to vote for him the left's most hated politician since Richard Nixon Bush did something "rock star" Bill Clinton never did. Bush maintained or increased his vote in every state but Vermont. Republicans picked up seats in the House and Senate, and continue to dominate state governorships. Also making history of a sort, Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle lost his election, marking the first time in half a century a Senate leader has been defeated
Court Rules: Al Qaida, Iraq Linked
Ruling: http://www.nysd.uscourts.gov/rulings/01CV10132.pdf
"...However, the opinion testimony of the plaintiffs experts is sufficient to meet plaintiffs burden that Iraq collaborated in or supported bin Laden/al Qaedas terrorist acts of September 11. Although these experts provided few actual facts of any material support that Iraq actually
provided, their opinions, coupled with their qualifications as experts on this issue, provide a
sufficient basis for a reasonable jury to draw inferences which could lead to the conclusion that
Iraq provided material support to al Qaeda and that it did so with knowledge and intent to further
al Qaedas criminal acts. In particular, Dr. Mylroie testified about Iraqs covert involvement in
the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 and about the proximity of the dates of bin Ladens
attack on the U.S. embassies and Husseins ouster of U.N. weapons inspectors. Juries are invited
to draw inferences from facts presented and this constitutes circumstantial evidence and this is
what the Court has done here. My decision reflects no more than that the facts and the available
inferences meet the plaintiffs burden of proof."
