CAR COMMERCIALS
"32 Miles Per Gallon" "28 Miles Per Gallon" "Gas saver that gets 32 miles per gallon!" Is anyone other than me paying attention to these commercials? Used to be - way back in the last century - that car ads would have the 25/35 MPG info blaring at you. Now, the mileage estimates that they show are for the HIGHWAY only. Wonder why that is? Maybe because when people stop to actually think about it, 20 miles per gallon isn't hitting on shit. Most driving is on city roads (ie: stop and go traffic, traffic lights, stop signs, etc.). So the next time you see an advertisement for the new whatever, remember that the mileage they pop up on the screen is for HIGHWAY TRAVEL. They don't even bother to show the "city" estimate anymore, because it is so low. 15 miles is not very far. 15 miles per gallon is a joke. The big ass engines from the 60's and 70's got 15 miles per gallon! I had a 1978 Ford F-150 pick up truck that got 13 mpg city and that was on a 302 V-8 engine! Now these new cars all look really nice and they drive nice and they ARE nice. The problem is that the gas mileage sucks terribly. Heres a good example: the new Lexus luxury car that is new this year has a mpg rating of 16 in the city! How can these cars be getting such shitty mileage to be as advanced as they are supposed to be? If you drive 32 miles to get to work (which is not unreasonable now), that is 64 miles round trip. With gas being $3.50 a gallon, you would spend $14 JUST ON GAS TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK EVERY DAY! That translates into $70 a week, JUST FOR TRAVEL TO/FROM WORK! We all know that no-one drives "just to work and back". All this ranting is for one reason: LOOK at the REAL mileage estimate when those car ads come on. When gas is $3.50 a gallon or more and you get 15 mpg.... what a joke!
NEVER FORGET
All the scumbags out there that hate America, remember this: We will never forget and we will never give up. It doesn't matter how long it takes, or where we have to go or who we have to deal with. We are coming and we will get you. No matter who you are or where you may be.
COMMON SENSE
This will be really short and to the point.... Big fuss going on about cops shooting some guy 47 times. Know what? I'm sure that somewhere down the line, someone told this guy that POINTING A GUN AT A COP WILL GET YOU SHOT. Period. I side with the cops. Know why? Because, should I be packing and you point a gun at ME, I am gonna shoot you. Cops ALWAYS have their guns. Be an idiot and point a gun at a cop. What did he think was gonna happen? How can people not understand that a gun aimed at someone is a threat? A gun aimed at a cop is a big threat. If he would point it at a cop, do you think he would point it at a "regular" citizen? Point a gun at a cop, die from gunshot wounds. How many shots should they fire? As many as it takes to completely erase any possibility of the threat. "You wouldn't be saying that if it was you". I wouldn't be pointing my gun at the law.
WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?!?
How many times does this need to be said: The President DOES NOT MAKE THE LAWS. CONGRESS makes the laws, the prez just signs them into law. So, when you keep hearing all these fucking commercials that say: "John McCain will overturn Roe vs. Wade" or "John McCain wants to take away a womans right to choose" or whatever, just remember that the Congress decides what bills wind up on the desk to be signed into law. "Well, then, that means the President makes the laws". No, moron, it doesn't. YOUR representatives in Congress make the laws. "This President has the lowest approval rating EVER". Know what? This CONGRESS has the lowest rating EVER and IT IS LOWER THAN THE PRESIDENTS! I think that both parties believe that they have the best vision for the country. The bad part is that it is the same old thing: politics as usual. Say one thing, trash the other guy, switch up when it looks like the popular opinion is opposite of yours, then do whatever you want anyway. This election is important, as all elections are. Just remember these two things: the President does not make the laws and IF APPROVED BY CONGRESS the Prez chooses the people to fill vacancies on the bench of the Supreme Court. Doesn't matter if you are conservative, liberal or moderate - WE all need to have people who will support WHAT IS BEST FOR THE NATION on that bench. Not people who legislate from the bench or people who let their beliefs come into play. The Constitution is the final say, and it means EXACTLY what it says. Not what someone 200 plus years later THINKS it meant. So, when you hear commercials saying things that are not true, do you think it would be wise to elect someone who supports those comments? One last thing: the chances that a bill outlawing abortion would wind up on that desk are slim to none. None of those fuckers in Congress have the balls to go up against an issue as strong as that. Plus, by the time it gets to that desk, it has so much bullshit attached to it that it most likely won't be signed anyway. It is highly unlikely that a law that has been in effect for so long will be scrapped. That is one issue that the candidates want to avoid as much as possible. Contact your representatives in Washington and tell them what you think. Remember: They work for US. If you support or oppose any issue, write them and let them know. Congress is who makes the laws. They need us to tell them what they should be doing up there in DC. That is the whole thing about democracy: the PEOPLE decide who they want to voice their opinions, and the representatives either listen to the voters, or they get replaced. The only way Congress will do what they have been elected to do is for their constituency to speak up and tell them. Most times, they vote whatever way their party supports, however if they get enough feedback from their bosses (ie: you and I), they usually vote that way. It may be the same thing they were going to vote anyway, but without OUR input, they don't have to even think about the issue. Speak up and let the members of Congress know that if they don't do what they were elected to do, their asses will be out of office come election day. Nothing speaks louder to a politician than a bunch of pissed off voters. Stop blaming the President and DO YOUR JOBS!
TELL ME ITS RAINING WHEN YOU'RE PISSING DOWN MY BACK
Has anyone noticed that during the primary runs, that all the candidates were saying that Obama "does not have the experience yet", but now, they are trumpeting how he is the best person for the job? The democrats seem to think that they are the salvation of the nation, but they refuse to work with the republicans, they refuse to open up areas for oil drilling, they refuse to even schedule votes for important issues that need to be resolved. The problem is that Nancy "I'm gonna work with both sides of the aisle" Peloski refuses to even schedule votes because she is waiting to see if Obama can win in November. "Well, it would take at least 10 years for any type of new drilling facility to open and be operational enough to make any difference". Excuse me, are we still going to be here in 10 years? YES, YOU MORONS! Fucking lift these stupid bans and get the fucking oil that we are sitting on, the oil that has been there for centuries, the oil THAT BELONGS TO US!!!! How stupid can you be? As soon as the drilling starts, gas prices will go down. Period. They don't need to start pumping the oil to affect prices. As soon as the process is started, the price will go down. I honestly believe that both Obama and McCain think they would each do a good job. I'm sure whoever wins will do a good job. However, if you think that I am going to sit here when Hillary Clinton says "Obama is the man for the job. He will lead this country toward change" four months after she said that "Obama lacks the experience to be President", then you are out of your mind. He wasn't qualified when he was running against her, but now that she lost, he is the man for the job? He had no foreign policy experience in the primaries, but now he has a stellar record on that all of a sudden? Biden was cutting him down with the same blade - Not experienced enough to run the country. Now, that he has been selected as a running mate, there is plenty of experience? I have no problem with them wanting him to win. The democrats are banking on the short attention span of Americans to get their man elected. In my experience, after you get pissed on, you usually get fucked. I am here to tell you, America, that isn't rain that you feel running down your back.
