'Tis The Season
I have no idea why this is, but dammit, I am gonna draw (some) attention to it right now. Someone explain to me WHY VIRTUALLY EVERY SINGLE PERSON that makes a purchase in a store, WALKS RIGHT PAST THE CHARITY DONATION GUY without even so much as GIVING A SINGLE PENNY? A fucking PENNY for crying out loud. You know, the coins that 99% of people WON'T EVEN STOOP TO PICK UP OFF THE GROUND that somehow is now the difference between life and death. If you can't give your CHANGE that you just got back from the cashier to the less fortunate, you need to rethink your priorities. How much difference TO YOU is 9 cents going to make? How many people do you think go in and out of Wal-Mart every day? How many of those people do you see put ANYTHING AT ALL into the bucket? If every person who came out of fucking Wal-Mart would put some loose change or a dollar into that bucket, how much do you think they would have after a week? Enough to feed and provide shelter for those who are LIVING OUTSIDE, SLEEPING ON THE FUCKING COLD GROUND. But, no, time and time and time again, most people walk right past that donation station and don't even think about it. "I need that dollar/change, I ain't giving it away". Most people have some sort of loose change after making a purchase. Throw it into the bucket, dammit. "I only use credit cards, I don't carry cash." Well, you are BLESSED to be in that situation and you cannot tell me that there is not some loose change in your car, pocket, purse..... Not even a dollar? C'mon! EVERYBODY who has a house and car has an extra fucking dollar. Hell, it takes THREE dollars to get a gallon of gas. Don't buy that double cheeseburger and put that dollar into the bucket. Pisses me off to no end when people say "NO" at the Dollar Store when asked if they would like to add a dollar to their total to donate it to the Red Cross or Toys For Tots or Salvation Army, etc. Won't come up off a dollar, IN THE DOLLAR STORE! It's fucking COLD outside and some people have nothing. You are blessed enough to be able to go buy groceries and drive your car and go out to the movies and buy things you want and need. Some people have nothing to eat, nowhere to sleep and nobody to give them any hope. Next time you walk into that store, no matter where it may be, make sure you keep some change out to put in the bucket on your way out. You really won't miss it and it will go to help someone who has nothing. One day it may be YOU needing someone to show a little charity. Karma has a way of coming around when you least expect it, and someone who is stingy with a few pennies for charity may one day very well be the one who needs it most. PUT YOUR PENNIES IN THE BUCKET! At the very least, you will get a genuine "Thank You" from someone you don't even know. That someone is somebodies brother, sister, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, cousin, mother or father. Maybe it is someone who has nothing and is standing there to try to help OTHERS, instead of trying to figure out a way to get over on people. It is the right thing to do, if it is within your means. If you are out spending money in a store, giving the loose change to the collection for the less fortunate is within your means. No matter how much change you get back.
Doing The RIGHT thing
For some fucking reason, ever SINce I have relocated to Sin City, some things have become very obvious to me. These are things that really are little things, but added together, create very large problems and/or situations. Some things are worse than others, but here is a good example. When you stop at a light, how much effort does it take to NOT BLOCK THE FUCKING DRIVEWAY? NONE. If this is the case, WHY do these morons around here SEE you trying to pull in/out and then pull up to fucking BLOCK YOU IN/OUT? The Reverend does not play that shit. If I am trying to pull in/out and you decide that a FUCKING CAR LENGTH is too much of a hassle to provide, then I will get out of my car and punch you in the fucking face if your window is down. If it isn't, then I have no problem driving right into the side of your car. Know why? Because like the hothead (Tony Spilantro) in the movie "Casino", I don't give a fuck and I'm stupid like that. You got insurance on that car? I fucking hope so, because if you want to play "chicken" with me, YOU WILL LOSE EVERY TIME. My vehicle is nothing to me besides a possession. Yeah, I need it to get around, but it doesn't matter AT ALL to me if there are dents in it or if the paint gets scratched. Know why? BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE. A car with a scratch in the paint drives just as well as a brand new car from the factory. When you are at the store with a pack of fucking gum and a six pack, the guy with two baskets of shit needs to let you go in front of him. Know why? Because that is the right thing to do. Same with EVERY SINGLE SITUATION OR SCENARIO THAT YOU CAN COME UP WITH. "Well, I was here first and he can wait". That is NOT the right attitude. Think how much nicer it would be if EVERYONE did what THEY KNOW IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Doesn't have to be a major event, you know what is right. Sure, might not be the right thing to smash into someones car, however EVERY ACTION HAS CONSEQUENCES. Do the wrong thing and it comes right back to you. ALWAYS. Do the right thing and it comes back ten fold. Most likely that moron who has to deal with his insurance company, pay a deductable, get the car repaired and miss work for a day or two will NOT block the driveway next time. I will have a big dent in my car, but that doesn't bother me at all. "What is popular is not always right, and what is right is not always popular." ESPECIALLY this time of year, everyone should be thankful for how blessed they are, instead of trying to screw everyone else over. Next time you have a choice - DO THE RIGHT THING. It is always worth it.
Myspace Bullshit
As you all know, The Reverend does not have a personal Myspace page or site or whatever it is called now. I keep hearing that I should have one. That way, people can find me and get up with me. Well, first off there are plenty of people who I have no desire to ever see or speak to again. So you have that. Second, I have been the vocalist for the Heavy Metal band ORDAINED for the last DECADE. The ORDAINED website and url is THE SAME AS IT HAS BEEN ALWAYS - www.ordained.net. If "somebody" wants to get up with me, they can do it through the band website. Anybody who I know that needs to contact me can go to the website, just like everybody else has done for so long. Now, here we go: What the fuck is up with all this "I love him/her" "I can't stand being alone without them" "I have found my soulmate" "I love them so much" "He/She is perfect" "They have the prettiest eyes, etc."??????? Who gives a fuck? Some of these things read like these people actually think it is a major news story because they have a girlfriend. "She is so perfect, I cry when we are apart" ?!?!?!? What the fuck? Nobody cares. The person you are going on & on about is probably out screwing around behind your back or they will be soon. Then we get to read how "I hate him/her" "They are so stupid" "She/He is nothing but a loser". Give me a break. You fucking moron, shut up about your boy/girlfriend because we all know they are a slut and we are just trying to be polite when you tell us how great he/she is. We really don't care and we REALLY are fuckling tired of hearing about it. So shut up already!
