Registered Bay Clydesdales

Clearview Farm has had Registered Clydesdales at the farm since 1987, when Norm and Anita Guiher, owners, acquired their first two mares. These mares were purchased on "a whim", while the Guihers were attending their first National Clydesdale Sale in Springfield, Illinois-just to learn and watch! They got hooked and have been ever since.

Presently, there are 3 mares, 2 fillies, 2 geldings and a stallion residing here on the farm. At one point in time, the Guihers had 22 head of Clydesdales here, but have downsized over the years to the present number. They have been involved with breeding, showing and competing with up to a six horse hitch of geldings. They have done carriage rides, wagon rides for schools and festivals and parading, including a few years parading the six at the Great Milwaukee Circus Parade.

The Guihers have found that these drafts are great "people magnets". Where ever the horses are, there are always folks wanting to be with them - some just to stand in awe, others to touch and talk to them. These Clydesdale horses are truly "Ambassadors of Good Will" and bring happiness, excitement and smiles to everyone who come in contact with them, no matter the age. Clydesdales are truly the magnificent "gentle giants".
