The owners of Shire Power Farms are Richard & Janice Forthofer, of Portland, Indiana
Shire Power farm was started in 1999 with the purchase of two shire mares from Carolyn & Jerry Prentice from Chamois Mo. Go Bearfoot Maude 23403-M and Majestic Cavalier Dianna Teddy 23348-M
Since that time several more mares have been added to the farm! We now have a total of 6 mares and our herd stallion-Forthofer's Master Maurus. In 2003; at the Ohio State Fair, Maurus was named the Ohio Grand champion stallion.
Our daughter Dr. Kimberly Forthofer D.V.M. is very active in the everday running of the farm and the health of the horses. That is why we advertise our horses as vet raised we usually have some good Shires for sale.
Since the start of the farm we have stared a carriage Service doing weddings, Parades, Parties etc.
