I am fascinated by faces, but I do not consider Portrait photography to be one of my stronger areas. Here I
showcase some of my more successful shots. When you consider that my two main photographic models are orchid and
butterflies, I start my idea of a successful portrait as one where I haven't made the person look like a bug.
Seriously though, the right face can be the best subject in the world to try to photograph. I can't say what it is
in one person's face that draws my camera, when another face doesn't; but when I do see it the desire to capture it
can be overwhelming. I do know that I only like shooting candid portraits; I can't stand taking a posed photograph
of someone! And since I find it very embarrassing to photograph people I know, it is pretty much impossible for
me to shoot the dozens of strangers I've seen and wanted to photograph.
Candid portrait photography is probably the photographic skill I'd most love to improve. But it will be a very
slow process considering I'm too shy to point my camera at people. I hope the people here like what I've captured.
My photographs of people are NEVER for sale. However, if you're the subject of one I will happily provide it to
you.
