Interesting Facts
Orcas can swim up to 22 mph, making them the fastest animals in the sea.

An orca's maximum life span is about 50-60 years.

Orcas are actually the largest members of the dolphin family.

Orcas are known for hunting the Blue Whale, the largest animal in the world!   This is how they earned the name, Killer Whale.  This makes them sound fierce, though there are no reports of unprovoked attacks on people.

Orcas can stay underwater for up to 10 minutes.

The orca's  ancestors lived on land 55 million years ago.  They soon began to live in the water and grew blowholes, fins, and tails.
