Entering the outer fringes of a coastal kelp forest, a large lone killer whale has singled out a Pacific salmon from a passing school. The big fish, weighing in somewhere around 50 pounds, is now the sole attention of the huge and hungry orca. No longer is this salmon just another fish swimming lazily through the ocean. It is now PREY!
Gently gliding through a small group of moon jellyfish , four orcas of northwestern Washington State swim in a leisurely fashion just beneath the surface of the Puget Sound.
