Pick'em Video Poker
Rules
Pickem is an unique version of video poker. The rules are simple: two cards are
drawn to player. After that player must choose one of two stacks, three cards in
each, to complete the hand. In full pay version wins are paid for a pair of
nines or better hand as follows:
- Royal flush 1200
- Straight flush 240
- Four of kind 120
- Full house 18
- Flush 15
- Straight 11
- Three of kind 5
- Two pairs 3
- Nines or better pair 2
Payouts are for one coin and maximum bet is often required to get full payouts.
Payback
Pickem offers about 99.95% payback for perfect play in full pay version. It's
a little below 100% but with additional jackpots, good cash back or comps it
becomes very well playable. The game also has quite a low variance compared to
most other versions of video poker what may be a valuable feature for many purposes.
Strategy
Another good thing with Pickem is the easiness of the strategy. It's quite
an easy to learn the perfect strategy and play it accurately. Strategy books
and cards are widely avaible for those who are interested in buying them, but
it's not impossible to learn almost perfect strategy just by using a simulator.
