Inside the Kingdom of Vanyanin Aran'dor, about a mile behind the Capital City, there lies a lake. This is one of the most mysterious areas in the Kingdom. No one quite knows what it does, yet the lake itself, which is hidden in the middle of a clearing of tightly-woven trees, seems to have a soft blue glow emanating from it.
On several occasions, people have been seen wandering in through the trees, only to return several hours later . . . serene. No one knows why. But there are rumors that hideous beasts swim under its surface, and that those who enter into the waters, never return. Torlan has entered the Lake area on several occasions, and so have Ser'ith (his Unipegataur advisor) and Calen'raama (his Elder Dragon advisor), and even Kaudia (one of Torlan's "official" Traders), and all have returned fine and unscathed.
So, unless some people start talking about their experiences, Linaedaquin just may remain a mystery forever. |
