11-13-05 What a day. I just got back from practice, and while we may not have written anything or did anything new, we did have an awesome practice. Here's the scoop. So I mentioned Shane's dad works for Milford Auto Body and they're moving and the person that does all the advertising for them wanted to come in and work with us. Her name is katrina and she's a pretty cool person. We played some songs for her and she had a few tips for us. Like the MySpace, she hates it. I know it's really lame, but everyone has one. We showed her this one, which again, is pretty lame, but we have more artistic freedom on there. It is definately better. Anyway, she suggested we get our own site where we'd pay twenty bucks a year and we can have flash and everything like that on it. It would have our own domain name and everything. So we're gonna get a press kit with her. She's asking for our bios and a little bit about the band and everything and we'll be getting those to her. With all that information she is going to put the press kit together to give to different bars and venues and it'll get us out there. So our first show with this new inside help will probably be the night before Thanksgiving. It's next Wednesday. I don't know where, but make sure that night is clear so you and all of your friends can come on down. That's next Wednesday. We're playing again on Tuesday at Shane's for her and some of her friends so she has more opinions to go by. Next Wednesday, day before Thanksgiving. Keep it open. Oh boy, Orange Lazarus is gonna be huge. She kept saying that. I really hope this is it. I have a good feeling. I'm really excited. So, once again, next Wednesday. Leave it blank. I'll update after our mini-show on Tuesday. Later. Skank On, Josh 11-08-05 Good news ska fans, Orange Lazarus has started playing together once again. We have been for about a month or so now. We've written three new songs and we keep pulling more and more out of our asses. Other than writing new songs, we've recorded another one, Bi-Polar Bear! It should be up soon (as soon as Shatt gets on that) so keep checking back. Another thing, we're going to be playing at a few places. Shane's dad works for Milford Auto Body, and as most of you may or may not know, they are moving to a new location. More info will be presented on that topic in a month or so, so stay tuned. Along with that though, comes even more exciting news. This Sunday we'll be getting stuff done with someone to get a promo pack accomplished. In lame-man's terms, someone's coming in to get a bio, demos, and contacts so we can promote our band. She is in touch with local radio stations and such, so that's pretty rockin'. Speaking of all that crap, I was interviewed by a friend of mine two weeks ago on the band. She is in a magazine editing class at KU and decided to pick me for her interview. I'm going to be in a magazine and on the KU website for it toward the end of the semester. Once again, more info will be provided on that as soon as I know more. Tons of important stuff, huh? Also, we're going to be doing an outside show soon! It is going to be free and open to all ages. Location and directions will be posted as soon as we know where and when we're going to do it. Go to the show before it gets too cold! If you're skanking, you'll be warm enough. Along with that, Shane has gotten in touch with a drummer friend of his who plays on the cable access channel sometimes or something and said if we wanted to play on a certain TV show we could. I think we will. Come one, what's more awesome than playing on TV? One more thing, if you go to DV, you're in luck. I'm in Peace Studies with Mr. Burns and as most of you know, we have to do a peace portfolio. I've decided to do mine with the band. We'll write songs on the different topics and perform it in front of the school. Come to the performance when we play. I don't know when it will be, but it will be soon. So, a recap: Milford Auto Body shop-warming party Outside show, FREE! Channel 8 TV program Promo Bi-Polar Bear Peace Studies peace portfolio performance. Come back often. I'll be updating a lot. Skank On, Josh 4-28-05 Go to myspace.com/orangelazarusska to see what's going on with us. Skank On, Josh 3-23-05 It's been a very long time since we updated this site, but that's because everyone goes to our MySpace site now (myspace.com/orangelazarusska). We have a show coming up in Jersey. If you're interested let us know. Also we may have a demo coming out soon but that depends on the consensus of the band. Keep checking back here and our MySpace site for details and updates. Skank On, Josh 1-23-05 Eh, the show was postponed. We'll keep you updated, but until then, check out myspace.com/orangelazarusska and check out our songs we have on there. Skank On, Josh 1-21-05 First band update of the new year. Woo-hoo! Not a long one though, just to let everyone know that we're not playing at the firehouse as planned. The people there were giving Tess (the one who was putting it together) some trouble. So we're playing at The Vault on Friday. Go! Skank On, Josh 12-20-04 Well, because we're in the middle of the holiday season, Orange Lazarus won't be practicing and recording much until it ends. We do have a show though. Mark it in your calandars. The show will be at the Greeley Fire Hall on Friday January 28th, from 6:00 -10:00. Admission is $8 and $7 when you wear a "Neon Orange Hunters Hat" Bands include Orange Lazarus, Catalyst, Honor Your Hero, CALM.murder, EndWell, and Afflitus. Skank On, Josh 12-05-04 We now live on the internet. I have taken the liberty of putting some mp3s on a few websites that are willing to host our awesomeness. Those songs are "Moving To California" and "Daybreak". Hopefully before christmas we can get some old school staples like "Daisy Buchannan" or "Bi-Polar Bear" up on those sites. Along with that, there is other goodness in store. We have been contacted by a lady by the name of Tess who was sad to say she missed us at the firehouse show in October, but heard such good things she emailed us hoping that she can book us for some shows. So as winter hits us hard in the east, the Orange Lazarus camp is quite happy as of now. The addresses to the mp3 websites are www.purevolume.com/orangelazarus, www.myspace.com/orangelazarusska, and www.soundclick.com/orangelazarus. They can also be found under the links section of the site. This is "The Fat Pirate" Chris Decker signing off. 11-23-04 Orange Lazarus has gotten ahold of some recording equipment and now it looks like we will finally after all these months waiting, we will be able to put out songs that the kids can enjoy. With that i can also announce that with the growing boom, we now have access to a PureVolume site. So log onto www.purevolume.com/orangelazarus to hear new songs from the band and so on and so forth. Along with the purevolume news, we also might be playing another show with some of the same bands as we played with at the last show, so hopfully that goes all well and with Chris Burd home for Christmas we can play the show at full strength. So with that said I will be signing off. ~"The Fat Pirate" Chris Decker 11-1-04 Well, the show was a success. Except for the unavoidable fact that our sexy sax player Chris Burd was unavaliable for the show, we looked pretty awesome. We still rocked as three pirates and a panda drummer. We were so rockin' that even the heavy metalers thought we were good. The other bands were glad we played as well. I think all those black-wearing-leather-clad-chain-ganging-emo-peices-of-crap are going to start listening to more ska because of the influence Orange Lazarus had on them. As you may or may not notice as you look around the site, we have an official new drummer in the band, Shane Velsor. Check out his bio and his picture in the Bios section of the site. Skank On, Josh 10-27-04 Sorry for the short post here, but if anyone needs directions to the Lackawaxen Fire Hall, here they are: From 01, go toward the light at Arnold's and make a right onto 739 in the direction of the Dingman Delaware Middle School, toward Lords Valley. It may take some time, so if the site doesn't look in tip-top condition for a while that's the reason. Hopefully you'll like the new look, It's pretty bad ass if I say so my self. I'll also remind you of our show at the Lackawaxen Firehouse, on October 29th. It will be an awesome time, one you should surely not miss. Well that's all for now. As always, this is Orange Lazarus, and I am Jeff Shatt. 9-12-04 Ska fans, Orange Lazarus has some good news for you. We have a show. We'll be opening for the Halloween show at the Lackawaxen fire hall on Friday, October 29th. The show will start at 6:00 and end around 10:00. Admission to the show is 7 bucks, but if you come in a costume, it's only 6 dollars. I would suggest dressing up as an orange, but that's just me. Bands include Strength For A Reason, Calm Murder, The Puffy Tongues, Tainted Values, Catalyst, You And What Army, and yours truely, Orange Lazarus, with more to be announced. Email us for directions. Skank On, Josh 8-22-04 We obviously didn't have our show as we were hoping to this last weekend, but that gives us plenty of time to plan and advertise for the next one. It looks like this one will be during fall recess, which will be sometime around November. Keep checking back for updates, or join our email list by emailing orangelazarusemail@yahoo.com Skank On, Josh 8-12-04 Well, there has been a lot going on since our last update here. We were supposed to do a show in Silverdale with another ska band called The Big Bad Nobodys, but that was cancelled because the borough there are assholes. So we decided to have our own show, and we decided to call it Lazapalooza. Keep all of next weekend open, because right now we're not sure if it'll be on Saturday or Sunday. Directions will be posted as soon as the show is a go, but for now, we'll just say it is going to be in Burd's backyard. We have quite a few bands we're considering to play at this show, so if you decide to come, which you should, you'll be glad you did. Lazapalooza will be our first show, and we'll be headlining, obviously, so clear your schedual and make your way to an awesome show. Skank On, Josh 6-28-04 Well skasters, not too much to really update here, with it being summer and all. We'll get to doing more as soon as we get bored getting drunk at parties and things like that. (Like that'll ever happen.) The only reason I'm updating tonight is because I have a special treat for all of you Orange Lazarus fans. We have not one, but two buddy icons, and this is the only place you can get them. Well, at least it's the first. I know there will be people trying to rip off our idea and putting it on their site. It's right underneath our names for our bios. So use one of those icons and show your OL Pride. Skank On, Josh 6-6-04 Last night OL played at The Relay for Life. Aside from being delayed 3 hours (you've lost my vote Commisioner Forbes) We finally got on at around 11 and rocked that cancer benefit like no other. There was a good crowd there to see us, and I think we were very well received. There will be some pictures of the event on the site soon. So if you weren't there, but I can't see why you wouldn't have been, you can check out them out when we get them up. So as always, I am Jeff Shatt, and OL rules your ska-universe. 5-13-04 Well, it looks like this summer is going to be one eventful summer for Orange Lazarus. Kicking it off is the Relay for Life. Come out and support the teams and see the entertainment (that's us). It will be at DVHS. We'll be recording shortly after the relay, so you can look forward to having your own wedge of Orange Lazarus with you all the time. Other than that, we are already booking a few parties, so if you want us for one of your own, check out the contact info and ask. I mean, what's better than a live ska band anyway? Other than parties, performances, and recording, we've been writing a lot of new songs lately, and improving the ones we already have written. Until next time, kids. Skank On, Josh 4-11-04 Happy Easter rudies. It's tough making entries more than once a month because two of the guys are away at college and the rest of us are busy doing other things, but I thought it was time to make a new entry, considering it's been more than a month since the last one was made. Well, the college kids come home in early May in less than a month, and we should start having regular practices again. For those of you who enjoy seeing us play, or want to see us play for the first time, we'll be playing at the Relay For Life this June. We'll be playing about an hour long set to give the people involved in the relay something pleasant to listen to, and the others something to skank to. More will come as the relay gets closer. Skank On, Josh 3-2-04 Well boys and girls, I figured I'd blow the dust off of my keyboard and update this damn thing. Not that there much to update nowadays. Let's see... If you're still on the edge of your seat waiting for a CD, calm down would you! It's obviously not comming out anytime soon. I'd say april or may. Sorry but that's just the way that things have been going. In other news, you can look for new pics of us on the site soon. Won't that be a treat? Other than that I'm afraid there's no other ska news to update you on, so all I can say is, this has been Orange Lazarus, and I, am Jeff Shatt. 2-1-04 Hello all! It is currently February 1st @ 1:49am and I amd very drunk. -Briggs 1-12-04 Good news ska fans, Orange Lazarus is going into the recording studio again soon. I've gotten in touch with two different studios that are willing to record, burn, dub, cut, and any other recording lingo you want to put in there for now. Pretty soon, you'll be able to hear the orange goodness of Orange Lazarus ska 24-7-365. If you have any questions regarding the recording or when it may be expected or just that you want a copy for yourself, e-mail me. -Joshua 1-6-04 Happy Lazaversary to the band, as of this day last year, Orange Lazarus got together for the first time. In honor of this occasion I have decided to put in a history section (coming soon) for our public to see how the phenomenon known as Orange Lazarus started. ~Decker 1-3-04 A Not-So-Happy New Year... So ska fans, I bet you really can't wait for that Laz CD can you? Well you going to be waiting alot longer now. Due to technical difficulties, Orange Lazarus has to head back to the studio to finish up what will hopefully be our best album yet. we're going to add new tracks, get our new sax player josh on it, and rerecord some old material. So just look at it this way, good things come to those who wait, and you've waited a very long time. -Jeff 12-26-03 From all the people in the orange lazarus bunch would like to wish everyone a safe and happy hoildays. For New News on the album, The producer we worked with is still mixing the elements of the cd right now, so hopefully we can get the cd out before New Years. Sorry for the delay of the release. -Decker 12-16-03 O-Laz fans heed my warning... Orange is coming back to town just in time for Christmas. The new hit CD "For Good or for Awesome" featuring the hit singles "Bi-Polar Bear" and "Daisy" will go on sale then. Be the 1st true fan to own this precious commodity. And remember Orange Lazarus wears orange and so should you. So when you come to a show that OL will be playing in, just have something orange. Maybe just eat an orange while we play, or wear orange socks, or even paint your face orange (not reccomended for children under 7 years of age.) Just think ORANGE! One more thing... Our Tenor Saxophone player the one the only the amazing Chris Burd had his 19th birthday yesterday so everyone wish him a happy birthday. Happy one niner buddy!!! -Briggs 12-10-03 That's right ska fans, Knapp is back: Orange Lazarus has become a ska force to be reckoned with. The addition of Josh, and now the return of everyone's favorite ska-man, John Knapp, has increased the size of the horn section three-fold. There are other possible changes on the horizon, but only time will tell what these changes will be and how they will affect the awesomeness of Orange Lazarus. Oh, I almost forgot. CD. Late December. You want it. -Jeff 11-30-03 Out with the old and in with the new: Well there has been a line-up change to Orange Lazarus with the regrettable loss of our trumpet player John, we welcome a new horn player. Josh Horning will play saxophone alongside Burd with OL. Josh is a skilled saxophonist and we welcome his arrival. In other news, the new CD will be finished in time for Chistmas so put it on your wish list kiddies. This has been Orange Lazarus, and I am Jeff Shatt. 10-16-03 To all the loyal Orange Lazarus followers: Guys you'll soon have a piece of Lazarus to call your own. That's right, the good people at OL have finally recorded. You can look for our first album, "For Good or For Awesome," some time in late November or December. It was an arduous task, months in the making but it finally happened. And of course we couldn't have done it without the help and cooperation of, Ed "Big Daddy Ska" Gumpper. All of us here at OL can't thank him enough, for he has finally made our dreams a reality. So thanks Ed. We'd also like to thank The Fastlane, for letting us use their stuff. The Fastlane, the best emo/hardcore around as far as I'm concerned. Oh, and you at the computer, keep logging on for more updates about Orange Lazarus, their new CD, and ska in general. -Jeff 9-28-03 The response to the site has been a good one so far, more lyrics and bios have been added. And with help of Corina Miller, more pictures of us will be posted. I have been in talks with people from seventh street coffee and hopefully, around the vaction time, the lazarus will be performing by there lonesome at the coffee house. Stay tuned to OL:Online for more updates in the future ahead! -Decker 9-24-03 "So we beat on, boats against the current..." Despite overwhelming odds, (computers breaking, losing files, etc.) the Orange Lazarus website is comming along rather nicely. Since our last entry we've added two bio's, a small photos section, a guestbook, and a burgeoning lyrics section. I have to say I'm pretty happy with how this is turning out, after all I did only start it four days ago. As for band news, Orange Lazarus is on a temporary break for now but we are hoping to record sometime in October or November. Thank for tuning in and don't be a stranger -Jeff 9-20-03 Well here it is, the Orange Lazarus web site! I know you've all been saying, "why the hell doesn't Orange Lazarus have a web site? I mean, they're so damn popular and all." well here it is. For those of you who don't know us, and found this page accidentally while surfing for porn, Orange Lazarus is a five piece ska band from Milford, Pa. we formed in January of 2003, and got our name from the TV show "The Adventures of Pete and Pete." So like I said, this is a work in progress and will look alot better as time goes by. -Jeff
