What We Love Right Now...

The Gilmore Girls

Everyone has a television show that they love without reservation. It may not be the greatest show around, and it may be totally removed from the reality in which they themselves live. A feelgood show that lets you live in hope that the world is a good, honest place to be in - in which people will love you unconditionally and everything will turn out okay in the end. For some people that show is Touched By An Angel. For others with more discerning tastes, and stomachs that aren't made out of caste-iron that show is The Gilmore Girls. I love tuning in every week to see what that crazy Lorelai Gilmore is up to, and wish that I could pull up a chair next to her in Luke's hardware store diner and order a bottomless cup of coffee.

Message Board Journals

For the voyeur within us all, there are some crazy people who spill out the details in their lives for you to pore over. Like a soapie with real people, you can even be emailed to let you know when it has been updated! This is what you should do when shows like Big Brother and The Mole are off-air. Addictive and slightly seedy.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

At time of writing, this film has not been released yet, but I hope and pray that it is good. I want it to have the same feeling of exhiliration and adventure that the original trilogy had but the first movie only had in short bursts. Teaser footage on the net and inital reports hint that it is what we are hoping for, and if so, we will be humming John Williams music in our head for months to come.

(N.B. This shows how long ago I wrote this! Yes, it is true! Attack of the Clones, although not as good as the original trilogy - is a fun, exciting popcorn flick that is truly deserving of the name Star Wars. Roll on, Episode III !)

Good Friends

The ones that don't judge, and reciprocate the true terms and conditions of friendship.

Torches

When you have to leave for work at five-thirty in the morning in the middle of winter, you are glad to have one of these to light the way to your car. Jeezum crow, this is becoming a bit like a gratitude journal!

Joss Whedon

Or, as my dear friend Erin calls him: Yoss Vhedon (in a Germanic accent). A genius in every sense of the word, he has singlehandedly reinvented the musical genre, and encapsulated it in a single episode of the Buffy-verse: "Once More With Feeling!" Waiting for the soundtrack to come out now!

Original Lucozade

Back on the shelves, and back in my stomach. Perfect for when I'm feeling low and sick.
