| Nathan Knight Williams Fort Myers News Press, June 8,1934 95 Year Old soldier Dies After Stroke. N.K.Williams, one of the oldest confederate veterans in Florida, died last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs.Bertha Tippins, 825 Washington street, after suffering a stroke of paralysis two days ago at Fort Denaud. The veteran of the 7th Florida regiment was 95 years old and has lived in Lee County for seventeen years since coming here from Fort Ogden. Mr.Williams is survived by two sons, Leland and J.E.Williams and four daughters, Mrs.Floyd Daughtrey of Fort Ogden, Mrs.Bertha Tippins, Mrs.Fred Lanier and Mrs.Eva Lewis. A fifth daughter, Mrs.Carrie Sloan, died last Tuesday. Funeral Services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Fort Ogden. Rev.H.L.Wiggins and Rev.Earl W.Vennum will have charge of the services. Funeral arrangements are in the hands of Lawrence A.Powell and assistants. |
