| I've recently become involed in the 'Oz experience trip' which is being run by the Joshua foundation. The organisation takes it's namefrom the founder's son 'Joshua Cornelius' who was diagnosed with cancers at a young age. Joshua underwent intensive chemotherapy. During his 28 months of treatment Joshua travelled theworldand visited oplaces such as California and Lapland. The Joshua Foundation aims to give other childrenwith cancer the same opportunity. The foundation offers holidays and experincesto children, these have included trips to a theme park or even a visit to the set of the Harry Potter films. These allow the child and their families to escape from their illness and it's a change from the sterile atmosphere of the hospital. |
| My aim is to collect �2500 by summer next year. Half of this money will go to the foundation to help them carry on the work they do. The other half will go towards a trip to Australia. This is a scheme set up by the foundation. Young people like myself go to Austalia partly as a reward for raising the money, but also to do conservation work. |
| This will be an interesting experience, however before I can do any of this i need the moeny, this is hopefully where you come in, lot's of people have sent me suggestions about whether MichealJackson was right to chage his skin colour, hopefully people could do the same for this. I would likeit if you could send me ideas of how to raise the money, no matter how simple or plain, I'm sure it will all be useful in coming up with ideas. Also if you have any of your own experiences of fundraising to share that would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance, Laura |
