Why
cannot connect using Service Discovery?
I have Oracle Enterprise Server
8.0.5 running on Solaris 2.6. I want to use the GUI tools (Enterprise,
Schema manager .....) on the database. When I use Service discovery in
Enterprise Manager to find the server
and instance it give a status
"Failed to get the agent information for the node 10.170.100.100" I have
started the listener, used the command dbsnmp_start and start. I can connect
via SQL Worksheet so the listener appears to work. Does anyone have any
ideas?? BTW I can connect just fine to Oracle running on NT server.
Ans:
You need to be sure that the
Intelligent Agent is configured correctly on your server. While SQL Worksheet,
SQL*Plus, etc. connect directly to the listener, the Service Discovery
option in OEM is trying to talk to the Agent. Follow the steps in your
OS-specific documentation on how to configure the Agent.
