What is Redo Log?
An OCP sample test question asks me "Your redo log file are in 2 groups,
with each group having 3 members. If you want to add a group,
what is the
minimum number of members the new group must have?
I chose 1 but the answer key says 3. I realize Oracle recommends
that to
keep them symmetric, but won't it allow 1? The question says
"must", not
"should", if I understand the English.
Who is right?
Oracle recommends that the redo log members need be the same (3 in
your case)
for normal functioning. Well, there is no documentation
that shows you should
not use 1. I guess your argument holds good.
