Just a word so that this site doesn't get deleted.
It's been nearly seven years since the last time I edited this page. It would almost make me nostalgic if I could still remember all the time I spent adding and erasing things from this page when I first created it. It's all hazy now, things that happened a full decade ago. Hanging out in the Math department's computer lab with my friends. I work in the same university's IT department now. Everybody else moved on. I'm the lone straggler, who now has no real place that feels like home. Depressing, isn't it.

If anybody is still listening, this site is currently defunct. For all practical purposes, it is as dead as a doornail. It has been well over a year since the last update here, and more than two years since I have actually done anything with any of the pages. It's to be expected, though, I guess. I started it off as a page to talk about Zork. Then I decided to try to make a maze-type game, which never actually got anywhere outside of the fact that I wanted to make one. Then I decided to just write some type of Zork-esque story(s) instead of building the maze, an idea which also never made it past the stage of me wanting to do it. For a brief while, I thought I would make it a page with a lot of information about zork, and other games related to it. (Yet another dead idea. There are plenty other sites that do a good job of it without another one to do it poorly.) The farthest that one ever got was me putting up a couple of links to some real zork information pages. All in all, nothing ever really happened here.
Anyway, this is probably the final update. I'll keep this page around for posterity, but nothing else will likely come of it. If I ever do decide to do anything with it, I will the first (and probably only) one to know.

Like I said earlier, too much to do. Finally got around to renaming a couple of things. Thinking about changing one of the pages. (I took it down in the interim.) Adding a few Zork links that actually work. That's all for now. {4/8/99}
Too much to do, and too little time to do it. 17 hours of classes this semester. Don't expect much in the way of new stuff. I might rearrange/rename some things so that they make more sense.

Merry Christmas
As I have had very little time for writing html (i've been spending more of my time writing in C) I have finally decided against building an html maze. It's just as well, since I never even started one. Also, i've been playing more games than just ZORK. Planetfall and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to name the Infocom ones. Also, there is Quake and Quake2. (Call me a traitor to Zork, but i like the pretty graphics.) I'm thinking of rearranging my page, and expanding it in the process. Perhaps I shall no longer restrain myself to Zork. (Actually, I unknowingly broke with keeping a zork theme on the creation of this page and geocities account. In the game Zork Zero, there is a structure known as "The Oracle of Bargth", which I intended to name myself after, after discovering that 'oracle' by itself was already taken as a login name at geocities. However, I had been concentrating on Beyond Zork for quite a while, and had forgotten how the name of the aforementioned oracle was spelled. Therefore, my monicker is 'oracleofbgarth', and not 'oracleofbargth' as I had intended it to be, and therefore is not totally in keeping with a Zorkian theme. Oh well.) Perhaps to develop a general enjoyments page, and have the Zork pages only a sub-section of it. Having multiple sections would serve to make me wish that geocities would allow users to have our own directory structures. Oh well again :p. {12/24/97}

Once again back to the old grind. Once again, i have no time to update this page as often as i would like. Once again i am complaining about not having enough time to update this page. I think i'm starting to fall into a rut! Nothing about ZORK for the past 4 updates! That must be remedied. I'll collect all my links to Zork places i have strewn about and place them on a page. That should keep everyone happy for a while at least. It's starting to become habit for me to not work on my maze. I'll have to get that up and running too sometime soon. My world of zork is also being neglected. I'll have to come up with some interesting prose for that page as well. There's just too much for me to do here and not enough time for me to do it in!!! Hello all. I still haven't had much time to be updating my page, but i am working on it. I'll try to have the maze running sometime before next week.
Just getting back from Christmas break. I couldn't do much to my page from home since I'm stuck with a packard bell. I'll try to update more often now.
Just wondering, does anybody else have Linux? I like the system much better than windows95. Much stabler, so long as you know how to keep it that way. I'm too lazy to read the documentation though. I'll have to, though, if I want to get X running properly sometime this year. Yes, even you could have your very own copy of Linux TODAY!!! The best part is, it's completely FREE!!! Download your very own copy!!!
Here's a fun game. (A web based ZORK game !!!!!!!!!!!!!) It's called ZORK - Master of the Elements. It's kindof like Zork Nemesis in feel. One section requires Shockwave to play too, but they give fair warning, and a link to get the plug-in. You should play it, it's fun. (But not as fun as a real ZORK.)
The day something strange appeared on my page:
One day, while loading my page, I did happened to spy the ad-banner which was atop this page. Within this banner did appear something which served to appall my sensibilities. (That particular ad was quite revolting!) Upon this instance did I resolve to move said banner to the bottom of the page. Thus, such things shall no longer be present at the top of my page where everyone is obliged to be looking. If you presently wish to see such things as GeoCities allows in their ad-banners, look at the bottom of the page where such things belong.
Guess what all! I was checking out Activision's home site and i found out that they are giving out copies of ZORK I: The Great Underground Empire !!!!!!!!! Go there and get it if you don't already have it!!
Thakns to the Webmaster of Circi Entertainment for telling me how to make the background of an image transparent. I need to edit my title image a little before I make the background transparent. (I'll have to make the background a color other than black so I can make it transparent without making holes in the image.)
Still working on the maze. I wonder if i could do it in JAVA? (can't use cgi 'cause of the geo-rules)
If anyone cares to give me any tips on what should be added into my maze, be sure to mail me about it.
Guess what!!! While playing ZORK ZERO, i found out that i have misspelled my name. My name is The Oracle Of Bgarth. The one from the game is the Oracle of Bargth. I guess now i can claim ot be his dslyxic brother.
