Hi Everybody,

Welcome to Orarcle's new news page, where we'll keep you up to date on band news and reviews.
I'll be updating this page regularly so watch this space.

Oracle play Scotts of Dun Laoire 13/12/03

With barely a weeks notice, the band were asked by another local band, 'Aggressive Broccoli,' if they could play support with them on Saturday.  Oracle looked at each other and said...   ...'okay'.  So they played the first song that came to thier heads and it just so happened to be the bes...... Ooops, wrong band!

So anyway, they arrived in Scotts on the night and more than a little surprised when they were told they were on
first!  Not ideal but the lads got up and played anyway.  And boy did they play!

Starting with, what is at the moment, an instrumental number before kicking into
'In My Arms', 'Taken' and 'Warmonger,' they blew the crowd away and left them looking for more.

Unfortunately, the rest of the bands weren't quite as practiced as our gang, but they still gave it the best they could.  And it showed.  Fair balls to you all.  We look forward to hearing how you guys progress and maybe even gigging with you in the future.

Oracle play the Harbour Bar, Bray 1/1/04

To start the new year with a bang, the lads decided to make a special appearance in the Harbour Bar, their old haunt.

After not playing there for a number of months, Oracle wanted to bring some business back to the bar.  They went on last and the night went down a treat.  The fans were great as usual and really made it feel great to play.

Oracle play the Harbour Bar, Bray 8/1/04

With over double the amount of people in the bar than the week before (they must have heard Oracle were back) the night was a huge success.

They opened the night in the usual way with
'In My Arms' and then surpised the audience by treating them to the first ever live performance of thier new song, 'Tempted Torment'.

As per usual, the crowd were great and the night was going full swing, until Ger announced that they weren't going to play 'Warmonger'!  The clientel were havin none of that so the lads said "fuck it! Here's WARMONGER!", and the crowd went wild!  A great gig and a great night!  Go Oracle!

Work In Progress

Just finished; 'Dark Soul.' A haunting, power trad song; it combines a slow-funk beginning and 'Maiden style vocals with a chewy, hard-rock centre.  This is definitely going to be another crowd pleaser.

Also, 'Room To Rent', a Skid-Row/Motley Crue inspired, Eighties number (good fun, great music),

In the works are
'Valhalla'; going back to the power-metal roots of 'Warmonger', this is a joyious, powewrful and catchy new song.  Being much more technical than 'Warmonger', it's going to take a while to perfect but it will most certainly be worth it;
'It's so Romantic' (not as lovey-dovey as it sounds), an, as yet, unnamed rock number,  and
'Goodbye', one for the ladies and the heartbroken (hey, we've gotta have one!)

Other News

We've got another couple of gigs lined up in the near future as a kind of prelude to the main event at Bannedstock.  Check out

Ciao for now,
