The Orchard Park Young Democrats will be holding their first-ever fundraiser on Friday, August 24, 2001 from 6-8 PM in the Martin Lodge of Chesnut Ridge Park. This informal picnic-style event is their kickoff fundraiser to get their organization started.

Addressing the group will be Boston Town Clerk and Erie County Legislature candidate David Shenk and New York State Assemblyman Brian Higgins.

"We are incredibly pleased and honored to be hosting these two distinguised guests," said Michael Whitney, President of the Orchard Park Young Democrats. "For being such a young organization, it is quite remarkable that we have garnished this much support for our first fundraiser."

The Aaron Staebell Quartet, a local jazz group, will be providing music for the evening. The suggested donation for the fundraiser is $5 for students and $7.50 for adults. Food and drink will be served.
