My Back Yard Laser Shows
In recent years I have performed several New Year's Eve 'hobby' laser shows.  Even though they always turn out to be two or three times as much work as I thought, and something always goes wrong, I have enjoyed doing each one of them.  They are not large scale efforts.  I invite family and friends over and make the show just a part of the party.  I have involved my son who has a great sense of rhythm and has done pretty cool stuff with a simple little laser control device and some of his music.  The rest of the family takes care of the general party stuff, and we make a night of it.  Everyone enjoys the laser show, the fire, and the fun, even though the outside temperature is really COLD each new year's eve that we've done this.  For future 'events', I plan to do them in the summer so it's not so cold out.  I could barely finish my last laser show because I was shivering so much!  : )
The next one will probably be planned around a 4th of July holiday.  I plan to erect the screen to be in front of the audience instead of overhead this time.  This is much easier to set up, and will double as a movie screen, as I plan to show movies all night on it after the party (or at least as long as people are willing to stay).  Should make for a fun time!
The purpose of all this is to have fun and to justify the existence of my weird hobby to my wife.  : ]
Ok, I just want to show how fun this hobby can be too.  Below are some photos of my laser shows.  Not real impressive like commercial shows, but fun none the less.

I will have pictures on this page as soon as I can find some suitable ones to post.
Until then, check out my other pages...
