OptykMuse Gallery
Not much to add to this page until I manage to take more pictures of laser scanner outputs.  These are early images that were taken in my lab or outside in the dark.  Be patient... I'll add more gallery content over the next year or so.
Projected red laser image 1
These are some pictures that I've recently taken of my SVS laser scanners in action.  These are done using an Amiga 1200 computer running LASERMAX lasershow software.  It is a very capable software package, but has a few quirks that I needed to work around to get it running on my 1200's.  The software has a nice lissajous pattern generator, which is what projected these images.
A 2-D image that looks very 3-D
Red Laser Projected image 2
Because of the longer time my digital camera would sample the image while in the dark room, the images I have here look really nice.  In reality, they are very dynamic and don't look static like this.  It allowed the laser to scan several times around it's path before the sample was terminated.  I wish I had control over the sample time so I could really get some complex looking shots.
This was used as the background image on my home page.  It is done using a plastic cube enclosure I had laying around, which I sprayed some "smoke in a can" into, then closed it up.  It makes for a great handheld beam display!  What I did here was to project the beams into the corners of the box in such a way as to spread the beams.  The corners acted as lenses.
Below is what happens when a laser is shone through a Lumia Wheel (see Specia FX page).  The pattern is constantl changing as the wheel rotates of can be static if the wheel is stopped.  These are some of the most striking and interesting visual images.
