Infrared Spectral Supercontinuum in Tapered Fiber

Evolution of the spectrum and intensity along the tapered sector of  the fiber in the absence of SRS

In the absence of the stimulated Raman scattering the usual mechanism of the extra spectral broadening due to soliton fission works.

Two Schroedinger solitons form two spectral solitonic spikes on the blue spectral side and two dispersive spikes on the red spectral side appear (see spectral surgery).

Only solitonic part is noticeable modulated . The dispersive spikes are comparatively smooth.
