Angel kicks Riley's ass! Angel kicks Riley's ass! Angel kicks Riley's ass! This was a huge payoff for us Anti/Riley fans. This was the moment we Riley/haters were waiting for. We were all waiting for that brilliant moment where Angel took that annoying loser Riley Finn and kicked the sh*t out off him. Look, I don't hate Mark Blucas or Season five Riley Finn. I just hate the season four Riley Finn. I hate him because he was nowhere near as great as Angel and I just couldn't understand how Buffy could go from Angel, her soul mate, to Mr. Boring himself. I was incredibly angry when Buffy first hooked up with him because he was the opposite of Angel. Angel was sexy, mysterious, charasmatic and incredibly handsome. Riley was dull, lifeless, lame, cheesy, and a goody good. He was a handsome guy but he was nowhere near as handsome as Angel. He was way too pretty boyish for me. He was also too much of the 'Boy next door' type for my tastes. I find the pretty boys that are super goody goods to be creepy. In season five, for some insane reason, I really grew to like Riley. He was cooler, he was more interesting and he was less of a goody good kiss-up. In The Yoko Factor, Spike tells each Scooby Gang member a different lie to get them to dislike Buffy. He does this to split up the gang so Adam can destroy them once and for all. At the same time Xander tells Riley about Angel's curse and Riley worries that Buffy slept with Angel while she was in LA. (Talk about insecure!) Angel comes back to town to apologize to Buffy for hitting her in LA and he runs into Riley. Mr. Doofus tries to stop Angel from seeing Buffy but Angel kicks his dorky ass. (Riley gets a few good hits in but he has to cheat with his wimpy stick and his stupid taser to hurt Angel.) After Angel apologizes to Buffy Riley discovers that Forest is dead and he confronts Adam once and for all. Buffy then tells the Scoobies that their friendship is over. The Yoko Factor is one of my favorites because it features the battle of Buffy's lovers. It is also one of my favorites because it had a great Buffy/Angel scene and many funny scenes with Spike. |
