Primeval is the episode right before the season four finale of Buffy. In Primeval we see the final battle between Buffy and Adam and we see the final destruction of the Initiative. The episode begins with Buffy still being angry with the Scooby gang. She is angry with them throughout the episode but she eventually realizes that she needs their support to defeat Adam. They talk and they discover that Spike's lies are the source of their original feud and they realize that he is working for Adam. They then realize that Adam is making a final attack on the initiative and they head to destroy him once and for all. They (Xander, Giles and Willow the original Scooby Gang,) perform a spell that combines their life energy and powers with Buffy so she will be strong enough to beat Adam. With their combined life essence Buffy kicks the living sh*t out of Adam and she rips his "heart" (his main uranium computer chip,) out of his chest and he is shut down forever.
Primeval is one of my favorite episodes because the episode (in my opinion,) features some of the best fighting sequences in the four year history of Buffy. It is also exciting becaue the whole hour is action packed and you really feel like Buffy is racing against time to save the world. The episode is really tense, in other words. I also liked how Buffy's powers were forced to their limits and I thought it was cool how they showed us what Buffy would look like if she used her full slayer powers. Primeval is one of the best and most exciting hours of Buffy. |
