| Angel: "What's happening Buffy?" Buffy: "Sh......It doesn't matter." Buffy: "I love you." Angel: "I love you." Buffy: "Close Your eyes." And that's the last tragic exchange between Buffy and Angel for Season two. In Becoming Part 2 Buffy fights Angelus so she can stop him from awakening Acathala. While she battles him Willow works on restoring Angel's soul. Xander meets Buffy before she battles Angelus but (out of jealousy for Angel, I think,) he neglects to tell her about Willow's plans. Angel's soul is restored just as the portal to Hell opens and Buffy is forced to stab him through the heart and send him to Hell so she can close the portal. (His blood is the only thing that can close the portals of Hell.) After she sends him to Hell she flees to LA in sadness. Becoming part two is a exciting, tragic, and heartbreaking episode. I (as I always am with great Buffy/Angel romance episodes,) was glued to my seat when it first aired. Becoming Part 2 had a surprising ending but I wasn't worried about losing Angel. We already knew that he wasn't really dead because it was announced a month before BP2 that Angel would star in his own spinoff. |
