| Becoming Part 1 |
I In Becoming Part One we see Angel become a vampire for the first time. We also see Drusilla's first meeting with Angel and we witness Buffy's first meeting with Merrick, her original watcher. We also learn that Angel saw Buffy a year before "Welcome to the Hellmouth," and we are introduced to Whistler, the character (that I believe,) inspired Doyle. BP1 is cery cool and very slick and it ties the past and the present together very smoothly. In BP1, Angelus finds out that the statue of Acathala is in town and he steals it. Giles tells Buffy that the statue will open the gates of Hell if a dark being sheds his blood for it and Buffy realizes that Angelus is going to perform the ceremony. She decides that she will destroy him once and for all when Willow finds the spell of Restoration that Jenny Calendar left behind. She decides that she will only use the spell for a last resort if she is killed in battle and she heads to Angelus to finally kill him. After she fights him she realizes that he is only a diversion and she realizes that Dru is attacking Giles and the others at the library. She arrives to find Kendra dead and the others wounded. She is then confronted by the police and the episodes ends there. When you first see Becoming you realize that something major is going to happen in the Buffy/Angel/Angelus storyline an you are kept on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. It is one of the first major two part stories and it leads to a major cliffhanger ending. |
