| Original Airdate:4/14/97 Angel is one of my all time favorite episodes because it really set the stage for the great Buffy/Angel romance and it showed us how great the character of Angel really was. I had liked Angel since his first appearance on Buffy and I thought he had great chemistry with Buffy. This episode was a major payoff for me and the other Buffy/Angel fans. In Angel, the Master sends a brutal group of vampires known as "The Three" to destroy Buffy. Angel saves Buffy from The three and he is cut in battle. Buffy takes him to her house and they become closer as he stays there They then share their first kiss. After they share this kiss she finds out that he is a Vampire when he loses control of his emotions and accidentally shows her his bat-face. He runs into the night as she screams. The next day she finds out from Giles that Angel was once Angelus the "scourge of Europe." Giles also tells her that Vampires are souless and that they could never be good She still trusts him after this until Darla frames him for a vicious attack on her mother. Buffy confronts Angel and she finds out about his curse. She joins with him to stop Darla and they share one last kiss after they agree that they could never be together. Their final scene is beautiful and touching and it makes Angel one of the best episodes of the series, if not the best episode. This episode is also great because it has the beautiful song "I'll Remember you" from Sophie Zelmani. "I Remember you" is the perfect theme for Buffy and Angel's Romance.
