Objective: To use my UNIX skills in a position that allows me to improve and expand my I.T. knowledge.

Summary: Over 5 year of Information Technology experience encompassing analysis, programming, documentation, data management abilities of data integrity, quality assurance, data modeling, backup and recovery, design, monitoring, performance tuning, replication, testing, upgrades and reorganizations. Feb 2001 to July 2002 -- Amdocs, Inc.   As a UNIX Programmer in Configuration Control:

  • In UNIX & NT environments, support developers by building, importing, exporting and maintaining software.
  • Perform on-line builds of software using PowerBuilder.
  • Research script-generated error logs to fix programs.

  • Write, test, implement and monitor Unix (C Shell) scripts that use embedded SQL, SED and AWK to search, manipulate and format build reports and build request data.
  • As needed, outline, write and edit documentation supporting new scripts and programs.

As a UNIX Programmer in the Law & Compliance Department:

  • Write, test, implement and monitor UNIX (Bourne Shell) scripts that use embedded SQL, and SED to search, manipulate and format daily trades data.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated production of reports, which use data generated daily from nationwide securities trades and sales.
  • On call status for paged alerts announcing data processing errors.
  • Research script-generated error logs to fix programs.
  • Through GLINK and QueryTool, use SQL to maintain, query, delete, update and create databases and tables, monitor the results of new scripts, and search for errors or corrupted data.
  • Using Crystal Reports, create automated reports to meet Compliance Department specifications.
  • As needed, outline, write and edit documentation supporting new scripts and programs.
  • Volunteered for rapid-reaction overnight "I Love You" virus response team. Checked scores of computers and installed fixes.

July 1994 to March 199 -- U.S. Navy.
As an Assistant AIS Manger of NSGA's 123-member Direct Support Dept.:
  • Set up and maintained inventory of 50 PCs and peripherals and more than 1,500 line items of ADP storage media and software.
  • Worked at department Help Desk, responding to more than 200 user requests for assistance, resolving complaints, printer assignments and system re-loads.
  • Assist in the creation, editing and maintenance of over 2,000 departmental web pages.
  • Served as department's correspondent to NSGA quarterly newsletter (sent to all NSG commands worldwide.)
  • Utilized education gained from Microsoft course 770 Installing and configuring Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0
  • Supported systems: Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, Novell NetWare 4.0, SunOS 4.1.X
  • Wrote UNIX-based automated message identification and sorting program that reduced the time required to process incoming messages by 60%. Received Navy Achievement Medal for this program.
  • Performed duties to NSGA and NSA information security specs.
