Asteroid Page

Asteroid Introduction
Asteroids are material left over from the formation of the solar system. One theory suggests that they are the remains of a planet that was destroyed in a massive collision long ago

Earth-Crossing Asteroids
The primary purpose of these pages is to describe and present results from NASA-sponsored research on the physical modeling of Earth-crossing asteroids using radar and optical data

Zoom Astronomy
Asteroids are rocky or metallic objects, most of which orbit the Sun in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. A few asteroids approach the Sun more closely. None of the asteroids have atmospheres.

Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking
NEAT is comprised of two autonomous observing systems at Maui Space Surveillance Site, NEAT/MSSS, and at Palomar Observatory, NEAT/Palomar.
