Patricia Racette and Zheng Cao were to have sung Butterfly together at the Pittsburgh Opera, but Patricia Racette, who  was singing full voice and feeling great, . . . woke up with the beginnings of a throat problem, and had to pull out. (Source)
Zheng Cao's Suzuki, however, was on the mark throughout. With fascinating small gestures, such as her annoyance over trying to comb a squirming Butterfly's hair, to her traditional Japanese movements, she was truly the glue that bound the work together. (Review of Pittsburgh Opera,Butterfly)
