Preludes

Preludes by Chopin playing.

One frolicsome, whimsical and glad.

Another dreary, forlorn.

The next, intense, emotional and sad.

All are beginnings that end.

All mysterious and beckon to me

As if singly they live and breathe,

And speak of stories

That could have been.
