Ode to a Singles' Club
Ah, Ski Club
Here I come!
To indulge myself
In adventures of
"Singles
Life"
To escape from
The miseries of
Living
life singly.
The parties, and going from
One great adventure
To another
They keep the mind busy
With flirting and
Wild fantasy
So I may sleep
Through my long
Single
nights.
A touch of humanity
That is what
We all need
To keep us
In touch with
How each
other feels.
Give us the good life!
Ah!
Bring on the wine!
We laugh and are merry
Well----at least
Once a week
Till the party's all over
And it's time
We must sleep.
My Ski Club,
Oh Ski Club,
How I depend on you
For those hours----
Those lonely single hours
You fill so happily
With lines from another's
"Singles' Life Book"
Written by one
Who'd gladly say,
"I used to know."
