Forgotten Land
A once forgotten land
Between sundown and sunup
Had turned to languid
Listless activity
Ritualized and canonized
Into acceptable standards
To facilitate
The
passage of time.
You drew open the shades
On darkness void of sunlight
And transformed night
With the softness
Of new light
Stimulating my head
With
new fantasies.
Old worlds
I now remember
Through dusty eyes
Were lost somewhere
Between sunup and sundown
Atrophied somewhere
Between ritual and work
Became unconscious
Somewhere between
Unrequited love
And longing
For
security.
