Dawn Dreaming
Prior commitments
Stole you away early
As dawn was peeping
Into
my bedroom.
I rolled over to lay
In the lingering warmth
Of your missing body,
My hair now absorbing
Faint traces of cologne
Left
on your pillow.
Dozing sleep toys with
My imagination
As sexual fantasies
Must awaken
To
an empty room.
Snuggling deeper
Into blankets and down pillows,
I savor the sweetness
Of the precious hours
We've spent in intimacy,
Arms and legs draped
About each other,
And hope you won't
Stay
away too long.
