A Broken Dream
A twinkle from you eyes
Splashed the air
And I caught its glow
As
it caressed my face.
Innocently your hands
Would touch my desire
While your words
Would
dance in my mind.
Excitement was all I knew
Until
I saw you again.
Longing was all I felt
Until once more you touched me.
Impatience----
Raw and sweet---
In haste we tasted
A
warm and yielding vision.
But, alas,
A dream was shattered.
I know not why as I search
The
cold and empty night.
It was only I
Who saw the twinkle
That caressed my face.
It was only I
Who felt desire
When
you took my hand.
It is only I
Who wonders why.
It is only I.
