A Thought
from the Dark
To the door he came
With a message for
me,
And to the door he called,
"Open
Sesame!"
The door it opened wide
And I beckoned him
inside.
He spoke in pleasantries
And, yes, seemed
quite gay,
But outside he remained
Within
the murky gray.
The room is empty now
Just as before
He came and bid me
To
open the door.
Perhaps the message could
Have changed to day
the night,
Had he spoken more clearly
And brought with him
a light!
