My Therapist Is a
Savior
My therapist is a savior—
The writer of my life.
Together we dig up my past,
Inspect it, relive it,
Reinvent it,
Keep it alive so I can know
And understand myself.
My therapist is my savior.
Without him, I would not know
Who I am.
My present would be a mystery;
I could not be... I must know
Who I am.
With my therapist,
My stories come alive
Again and again to let me see
Who I am.
My stories let me see
Why I do this and say that,
They let me see so I won’t be
Someone I don’t want—
A complete mystery.
My therapist is a blessing
And gives me answers from my past
About my present
For my future
So the past can always let me know
Who I am.
My therapist is my savior.
Without him,
The me I struggle to know
Would die.
